The latest figures from Brazil show 566 deaths from 12,240 confirmed cases of coronavirus, leading to lockdowns across the South American nation.

Costa and Felix uploaded a number of photos of their work to social media.

One image of the pair was captioned: “Today we are in the midst of all this confusion with an even greater desire to help others!”

Felix, a model from Brazil, quoted the Bible passage Colossians 3:23 in expressing the need to help those vulnerable in the pandemic.

She wrote on Instagram to her 349,000 followers: “Summary of our day!! Helping those in need. ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters’.”

A number of footballers from Italy, including Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo, have left the country while coronavirus devastates its healthcare infrastructure.

In addition, Chelsea winger Willian has gone back to Brazil.

But there are fears they might not find it easy to return to Europe once the pandemic is calmed on this side of the Atlantic – should it then be having a severe impact in their current locations.

Costa has posted several photos of his time with Felix, romancing by the pool and visiting the set of reality show Big Brother, to his 6.1million followers.

And he could be up for another change of scenery once the season ends with reports talking up a move to Manchester City.

Italian media claim the Premier League side is being offered the chance to buy Costa, 29, in a bid to bring Gabriel Jesus to Juve.
