Argentine publication Telam reported the 59-year-old isolated from Tuesday and will undergo a test on Thursday.
It is claimed he is showing no symptoms and is taking precautionary measures.
Maradona will be considered ‘high-risk’ having endured a string of health complications in the past.
He was rushed to hospital in 2004 with heart and lung trouble and has also battled drug and alcohol addiction.
Maradona – currently managing in Argentina – tested negative for the virus earlier this month after one of his players contracted COVID-19.
He was also pictured wearing a large, curved mask covering his whole face, along with seven-year-old son Diego Fernando as his side played a friendly at the end of September.

He is currently the manager of Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata who play in the Argentine top division.
They play on Friday but it is unknown whether Maradona will be able to attend the fixture.
It is the club’s first game of the season as the campaign gets back underway for the first time since March.
