TWO ON THE BOUNCE
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has lost both of his Premier League meetings with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
The Special One has never lost three consecutive league matches against the same manager or club before.
GOOD AFTERNOON
Welcome to our live blog of Chelsea against Tottenham in the Premier League.
This London rivalry is fierce enough at the best of times, but when you factor in the two teams are currently second and fourth in the league, with the winner today topping the table, the game has all the hallmarks of an absolute classic.
That’s without factoring in Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge, where the Special One enjoyed so much success.
You just know there are going to be fireworks in this one.
Both teams have lost just the once in the league this season, with Spurs currently second on twenty points, and Chelsea fourth on eighteen.
Spurs also come into the game off the back of an impressive victory over Manchester City last week, and will come into today’s game brimming with confidence.
However the Blues will not be short of confidence of their own, as the Blues haven’t lost in the league since September, and that was against current champions Liverpool.
Spurs also have a woeful record at Stamford Bridge, having not won in West London since 1990.
If any man can change that record though you would fancy it to be Jose Mourinho.
A win for either side today would be a statement to the rest of the league that they are genuine title contenders.
In team news Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic are back in contention for the Blues, while Spurs are missing Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela.
Kick off is at 4.30pm and team news will follow shortly.
