Chelsea legend John Terry splashes out on fierce protection dog after ‘traumatising’ £400,000 raid on Surrey mansion

JOHN TERRY has welcomed a new £15,000 pooch to the family.

Chelsea’s legendary former captain, 39, revealed on Instagram that he’s splashed out on a fierce protection dog from security company Chaperone K9.

The Czech German Shepherd has been trained to a high level and will provide protection for Terry and his family.

He isn’t the first footballer to use dogs from Chaperone K9, with The Sun exclusively revealing that Rio Ferdinand has splashed £40,000 on TWO mutts.

Raheem Sterling and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also have trained dogs from the same company.

The desire for canine protection comes after a series of high-profile burglaries, with Dele Alli and Fabinho recently targeted.

SunSport also exclusively revealed last September that the ex-England skipper put his name down for a £15k guard dog to protect his home from raiders.

And the same mutt now appears to have completed its final training following a terrifying raid on Terry’s old mansion in 2017.

The Aston Villa assistant boss lost £400,000-worth of luxury goods after three axe-wielding burglars targeted Terry’s former Surrey pad while he was on a skiing holiday with wife Toni and their twins.

The brazen criminals stole handbags worth £126,000, with £220,000 of gems and cash also nicked alongside rare first-edition Harry Potter books totalling £18,000.

And Terry has now moved to get a fearsome yet loyal guard dog to provide extra protection.

Meanwhile, Terry is battling neighbours over plans to build a pool party area at his new £4.35million mansion.

He is eyeing up an outdoor party space complete with covered seating and a poolside bar, and to replace the current triple garage to house his flash cars.

Terry even wants to add staff quarters to the seven-bedroom 18th centruy house which he moved into in July last year.

But disgruntled neighbours are eager to spike the plans.
