Chelsea ‘convinced Callum Hudson-Odoi will stay and have never reached agreement with Bayern over £70m transfer’

CHELSEA are reportedly convinced that Callum Hudson-Odoi will stay at the club amid renewed interest from Bayern Munich.

The Blues have already rejected an offer from the Bundesliga giants to loan the England winger with an option to buy for £70million.

Frank Lampard then admitted he could not say for certain that Hudson-Odoi will not make a deadline-day move to Bayern.

Yet Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are convinced that the 19-year-old is staying at Stamford Bridge.

The report adds that Bayern are still attempting to secure a last-minute deal but are struggling to reach an agreement with the Londoners.

The Bavarians were linked with Hudson-Odoi before he agreed to his long-term five-year contract with Chelsea 12 months ago.

And they remain big fans, with boss Hansi Flick hailing the England attacker as ‘one of the biggest talents’.

Hudson-Odoi has faced increased competition for a spot at Chelsea following the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech.

He made his first Premier League start of the season in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

And speaking after the match, Lampard said: “There is no definitive answer — by Monday we will know the answer.

“Bayern might have declared their interest, which is one thing, but Callum is absolutely part of my plans.

“What Callum wants comes into consideration.

“He is our player and everything has to be right for everyone.

“Callum showed what we wanted, especially in the second half when he was more aggressive, took on the full-back and got crosses in.”
