CHELSEA are considering Willian’s desperate plea to return home to Brazil.

The midfielder claims London is like a war zone due to panic buying.

Willian wants to join his family despite much of the world being caught up in Covid-19 panic.

Chelsea are concerned that if they and the Foreign Office grant the request, he will struggle to return any time soon.

Willian, 31, whose contract expires this summer, said: “In the markets, it’s like a war. I’m alone. I’m trying to get authorisation.

“My wife and daughters are in Brazil. Other players are going, being close to family at this moment.”

Earlier this week, Willian posted a picture of him and his family on Instagram, writing: “Stay strong, take care, be supportive!

“Let’s get over this difficult moment together!”

If the Premier League season resumes after April 30, Willian would have to plead his case again to be allowed back into the UK.

Brazil has so far reported 691 coronavirus cases, with seven deaths.

Willian said earlier this week he would continue on at Stamford Bridge and end the season, if necessary, after his contract ends in July out of loyalty to the Blues.

He told Brazilian TV channel Esporte Interativo: “My contract really ends I think in July.

“And if I had to play on those dates, in these months, I think it would be no problem for me to end the league in a way which would be loyal to the club, as they always were with me.
“Regardless of a signed paper.

“But it’s clear that this is not a certainty, we don’t know what can happen.

“But without a doubt, as always, I will always be ready to give the best to my club regardless of my contract situation.”
