Chelsea boost with N’Golo Kante having NO intentions of transfer away despite Real Madrid and Inter Milan interest

N’GOLO Kante wants to stay at Chelsea despite being targeted by Real Madrid and Inter Milan, reports claim.

Kante, 29, has no desire to leave Stamford Bridge in the ‘short or medium term’ and is happy to see out his contract, which ends in 2023, according to Le10Sport.

Boss Frank Lampard shares the same sentiment and has insisted that the midfielder still plays an important role at the Bridge.

Speaking on Kante he said: “I think pretty much every club in the world would want N’Golo Kante.

“I have seen those reports as well. He is an incredible player and person and I certainly don’t want to lose him. He’s fundamental in terms of what I’m trying to do.”

Lampard’s admission comes after Chelsea were forced to deny claims that there was a rift between the pair.

French outlet Le Parisien claimed the midfielder was furious when Lampard refused to let him skip training to attend a friend’s wedding before the international break.

Speaking to the Mail, a Chelsea spokesperson said that the story was ‘total nonsense’.

Kante has been linked with a transfer all summer with both Real Madrid and Inter Milan expressing interest in him.

Madrid were said to have prioritised signing Kante after cooling their interest in Paul Pogba back in May, but the coronavirus pandemic forced them to re-consider their plans.

Inter entered the race for the Frenchman in the summer and it was reported that boss Antonio Conte was keen to re-unite with the player he managed for two seasons.

The pair won both the Premier League and FA Cup together.

Manchester United were also rumoured to be considering a move for Kante but a bid never materialised.
