Borussia Dortmund striker trio at end of Haaland-inspired win over PSG born in Leeds, Sunderland and London


BORUSSIA DORTMUND reaped the rewards of their British-born teenage trio in last night’s win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Giovanni Reyna started life in England – but are now stealing the show in Germany.

Dortmund beat the French giants 2-1 in the last-16 Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

And the front three for Lucien Favre’s side at the final whistle were all born in England.

The 19-year-old produced his most memorable performance to date as he fired two goals past Keylor Navas.

Haaland, who joined Dortmund for £18million, has scored an incredible 39 goals in 29 appearances this season.

He is taking the Bundesliga by storm, but he has admitted his desire to conquer the Premier League with Leeds.

The striker was born in Leeds before he moved to Bryne in Norwich with his family at the age of three.

During an interview with Aftenposten, he said: “The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.”

His father is former Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Manchester City defender Alf-Inge Haaland.

Haaland Jr was linked to a number of Premier League clubs last month, but the German giants sealed the deal.

Jadon Sancho

English clubs are scrambling to get their hands on Sancho following his incredible spell of from in the Bundesliga.

The Three Lions star, 19, has scored 15 goals and made 15 assists for the league leaders this season.

And it all started for him in Camberwell, South London.

His parents, from Trinidad and Tobago, then raised him in Kennington.

He was a die-hard Chelsea supporter as a youngster and was close friends with Arsenal star Reiss Nelson.

The pacey forward joined Watford at the age of seven before making the move to Manchester City in 2015.

Sancho could make his return to England in the summer after being heavily linked to Chelsea and Manchester United.

Giovanni Reyna

Reyna started on the sidelines against PSG, but was introduced in the 67th minute to replace Thorgan Hazard.

The American made the move to Dortmund after he proved his potential with New York City FC from 2015 to 2019.

But the 17-year-old, who was named after Giovanni van Bronckhorst, was born in Sunderland.

His father is former Glasgow, Rangers, Sunderland, Manchester City and United States international Claudio Reyna.

And his mother, Danielle Egan, made six appearances for the United States women’s team in 1993.

Reyna made an instant impact on Tuesday as he became the youngest American in history to play and record an assist in a Champions League fixture.
