BARCELONA have dropped their interest in £50million-rated Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Catalan giants are instead focusing on Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno as a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Barcelona are ready to drop their interest in Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and instead move for Valencia hitman Rodrigo
Nou Camp chiefs have started negotiations with their LaLiga rivals to bring in the striker.
It is a blow for the Gunners, who fear losing Aubameyang for free in just over 16 months’ time when the Gabon hitman is out of contract.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta knows if he must either sell Aubameyang now or get him to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
Valencia are believed to want to take a Barcelona player in a cash-plus-player deal for Rodrigo.
Barca are looking for a replacement for Uruguay striker Suarez.
He turned 33 this month.
The Catalans signed Antoine Griezmann for £107m in the summer but know they need another striker.
Aubameyang has also been linked with Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old joined Arsenal in January 2018.
He has 46 goals in 64 Premier League starts for the Gunners.
But Barca chiefs fear negotiations with the Gunners will prove tricky with the North Londoners wanting top dollar for their in-form striker.
The Catalans had looked at Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud, but have now scatched him off their wanted list as they pursue Rodrigo.
They are confident of getting their man.
