Arsenal joined by Juventus in Ousmane Dembele transfer race as Italians eye loan for Barcelona flop with option to buy

JUVENTUS have reportedly joined the race to land Ousmane Dembele with the Old Lady keen to include the Frenchman in a deal for Miralem Pjanic.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claim the Italians ideally want midfielder Arthur Melo from the La Liga giants in a swap.

But the Brazilian reportedly not keen on a switch to Serie A and Barca are keen to find an alternative to keep the Pjanic deal alive.

Juve have now inquired about the possibility of taking Dembele on a season-long loan with an option-to-buy as part of negotiations.

Barcelona boss Quique Setien is understood to be keen to work with Dembele but is aware the club need sales this summer to raise funds for any incomings.

The Catalans already have attackers Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Antoine Griezmann, Ansu Fati and Martin Braithwaite on their books and are chasing deals for Neymar and Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

Dembele has suffered from injury and poor form since his £138million move from Borussia Dortmund for in 2017.

And it was previously reported that the 23-year-old, who is also a target for both Arsenal and Manchester United, could be available for just £37m this summer.

The forward is currently recovering from hamstring surgery, the tenth injury he has suffered during his underwhelming stint in Spain.

The Gunners and United are both monitoring his progress but could be put off by his injury record despite the cut-price bargain on offer.

United may have the edge after reports emerged showing Red Devils forward Anthony Martial had been in touch with compatriot Dembele.
