MIKEL ARTETA wanted to sign Chelsea vice-captain Jorginho and Lyon star Houssem Aouar in the summer as well as Thomas Partey.
The Mirror claims Arsenal’s ambitious boss was not content with targeting just Partey, who he landed on deadline day from Atletico Madrid after meeting his £45million release clause.

Aouar was strongly linked with the Gunners throughout the last transfer window.
And it’s reckoned Arteta is ready to return for the Lyon playmaker in 2021.
Meanwhile, Chelsea star Jorginho revealed last month his representatives held talks with Arsenal.

He told ESPN Brazil: “I believe that every player is open to negotiations.
“So I believe there was something they talked about and in the end it was decided that I remain here.
“Now my head is here and we’re going to do a great job with Chelsea, which I always wanted to do.”
However, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has now hinted at another reunion with former Blues boss Sarri.
The tactician build his Napoli side around deep playmaker Jorginho before taking him along to Stamford Bridge in 2018.
Sarri is looking for a new club after being axed by Juventus in August.
And agent Joao Santos says Jorginho is keeping tabs on Sarri’s next move.
Santos told Calcioercato: “Jorginho has a personal and professional bond with the coach that is very strong.
“We’re waiting to see where Sarri goes, and if it’s a big club in Italy, Jorginho could follow him.
“Almost all the Italy players are in Serie A as it’s an important league, but his journey took him to London.
“If Sarri had remained, perhaps Jorginho would have joined Juventus.”
