Arsenal and Man Utd joined in transfer race for Tolisso by Atletico Madrid and Juventus with Bayern set to sell ace

ARSENAL and Manchester United are reportedly among the club weighing up a summer swoop for Bayern Munich star Corentin Tolisso.

The France international has fallen down the pecking order under Hans-Dieter Flick, having started just seven games since the German took over in November.

Foot Mercato claim that both Arsenal and United are looking to capitalise on the situation, with Tolisso said to be considering a fresh start away from the Allianz Arena.

However, the report adds that the Premier League sides face stiff competition for the World Cup winner’s services from European giants Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Napoli.

Tolisso joined Bayern from Lyon for around £35million in 2017 and made 40 appearances as the Bavaria club lifted the league title.

He also played a role in France’s World Cup victory the following summer before rupturing a cruciate ligament early in his second Bundesliga season.

The dynamic midfielder played just four times that term and has struggled to get back into Bayern’s starting XI since.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is desperate for reinforcements this summer following reports he hopes to land three new players in a £97m triple transfer swoop.

The Spaniard is planning to use his knowledge of LaLiga to snap up trio Marc Roca, Carlos Soler and Unai Nunez.

Meanwhile, United are already in a battle with Bayern for Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz, who has been eyed to replace Tolisso in Munich.
