INTERESTING FROM FERRARI
n
n
FERRARI have admitted for the first time that a clampdown on their controversial engine is slowing them down.
n
The Italian team were the subject of much accusation last year, with rival teams hinting that their engine was illegal.
n
Controversially, the findings of an FIA investigation were kept private – much to the frustration of non-Ferrari powered teams.
n
But since the rules were clarified through a series of technical directives (TD), Ferrari have been embarrassingly off the pace and boss Mattia Binotto says it is because the FIA has flexed its muscles.
n
He said: “Certainly I think that regulations are very difficult and complex. There are areas of regulations on the power unit where maybe clarifications are still required, it’s an ongoing process, which has always existed in the past and will exist in the future.
n
“Since last year a lot of TDs have been released, eventually clarifying some of the areas of regulations, through those TDs, we had to adapt ourselves.
n
“I don’t think it is only the case with Ferrari, because looking at the power output of this season I think most manufacturers somehow had to adapt themselves but certainly as Ferrari we had to adapt and as a simple output of that we lost some of the performance we had.
n
“Now we’ve got a clearer situation in some areas of the regulations and that will continue if required for the future.”
n”,”raw”:”

FLOORED IN A LIFT
n
Johnny Nelson has revealed a tense encounter with Mike Tyson in a hotel lift after calling him “fat boy” before their proposed fight.
n
Tyson in 2000 had decided to take his career over to Britain and signed a three-fight deal with Frank Warren.
n
He had already beaten Julius Francis and was about to fight Lou Savarese with cruiserweight champion at the time Nelson lined up to be the third opponent.
n
With a fight all but signed, Nelson was ringside in Scotland to watch Savarese be taken out in 38 seconds and after receiving verbals from Tyson, the Brit made the ill-fated decision to bark back.
n
Nelson, 53, told Sky Sports: “He knew it was me next and that’s where the intimidation started.
n
“Before then, we were pretty jovial and polite with each other, but when he knocked out Savarese he shouted down at me: ‘You sure you want some of that? We’re going to eat you!’”
n”,”raw”:”
