PORSCHE sent a message to their German rivals Mercedes, Audi and BMW by securing their first pole position in Formula E.
Andre Lotterer pipped Jaguar’s Mich Evans to pole position by 0.063 seconds.

After securing his first pole since Rome last year, he said: “To get the first pole feels great. It’s mega, I’m super excited.
“It’s great to be up there, as we work hard all the time as a new team.
“I wasn’t expecting it but we’ve worked at everything. It was tricky, but some hard work paid off and so hopefully it will in the race as well.”
Lotterer secured the team’s first podium in Saudi Arabia in the opening race of the season.
Ex-F1 star Pascal Wehrlein qualified in third but the Mahindra driver will start from the back of the grid after receiving a hefty grid-place penalty.
Mahindra received a 40-place grid penalty after replacing both gear boxes in each car.
Mercedes’ Nick De Vries will start in third ahead of Sebastien Buemi and Brit Sam Bird in fourth and fifth respectively.
BMW duo have their work cut out as Max Gunther starts in 17th ahead of teammate Alex Sims in 19th.
Defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne starts eighth are struggling to get to grips with his breaks as he starts ahead of his teammate Antonio Felix Da Costa.
The two clashed last time out in Chile, where Da Costa felt his exchange with Vergne in the race cost him victory.
