Tyson Fury’s trainer reveals game plan to beat Anthony Joshua and admits Gypsy King is already working on new attack

TYSON FURY’S trainer has revealed the Gypsy King will not alter his gameplan if boxing fans get their wish for a mega-unification fight with Anthony Joshua.

The 31-year-old produced the performance of his career to completely dominate Deontay Wilder ten days ago and win the WBC heavyweight title.

The beaten American, whose corner threw in the towel in round seven, has already triggered his option for a rematch.

Meanwhile Joshua, who holds the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles, will battle Kubrat Pulev at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20, meaning an all-British showdown will have to wait until the end of the 2020.

Fury switched from using Ben Davison as a trainer to SugarHill Steward before his comprehensive triumph over Wilder, harnessing the Kronk style in search of a knockout, although many pundits believe his old less aggressive style would be wiser against AJ in order to try an out-point him.

But Sugar Hill is adamant that a change will not be needed, telling Sky Sports: “Why do anything different?

“This is what I believe in wholeheartedly, the Kronk style.

“So many guys have won with that style. It is a proven method over decades and thousands of successful fights, it isn’t just something that has been made up.

“We will find out when that fight is made. Nobody has to believe us. It isn’t about talking, it’s about actions.”

Fury was three stone heavier than Wilder for the Las Vegas fight, but Joshua will provide a much-more heavier opponent.

And SugarHill admitted Fury will need to use more than just size against his fellow countryman: “Definitely. Tyson is intelligent. Now learning something different, he knows what to do.”

And on Joshua, he added: “He is a big, strong, intelligent, talented fighter. Very co-ordinated and strong with great will and determination. He can punch with both hands.

“Joshua is one of the other big superstars of boxing but, the only way to truly tell, is for those two guys to fight.”
