Tyson Fury’s promoter vows to arrange Anthony Joshua fight and reckons bout would be ‘even bigger than Wilder’

TYSON FURY’S American promoter Bob Arum has vowed to arrange a fight with Anthony Joshua and believes it will be even bigger than one involving Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King, 31, rematches WBC king Wilder, 34, on February 22 with the pair already signed to a trilogy bout.

But the loser of the Las Vegas showdown has the option to walk away from a third clash or accept, as they will be receiving a lesser 40 per cent purse split.

Unified champion Joshua, 30, meanwhile, is set to face IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev – also promoted by Arum – in the summer.

The Top Rank chief insisted that should domestic rivals AJ and Fury become available by winning their next fights, then he will work to make a Battle of Britain between the pair.

Arum told SiriusXMBoxing: “Fact is the (Wilder vs Fury) contract now says that the loser of the fight can demand a third fight, and then take 40 per cent and the winner of the second fight takes 60 per cent.

“So it’s up to the loser to pull the plug on the rematch.

“If Wilder in that case being the loser decides to go in another direction then absolutely Fury will end up fighting Pulev who will have knocked out Joshua.

“If Joshua beats Pulev and Fury is available because Wilder hasn’t triggered the third fight, absolutely I would do Fury and Joshua.

“It would be the biggest mega fight, even bigger than Wilder and Fury.”

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn also offered the winner of Fury and Wilder’s rematch to swerve a trilogy for a mega-money unification against WBA, IBF and WBO holder AJ.

Watford ace Joshua won back his trio of belts against Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2019.

And Hearn has warned the London hero could again make the 4,000 trip to the Middle East – even if it’s against countryman Fury.

He told iFL TV: “Do you think I go up to the guys and say: ‘Guys, you can make $150million (£115m) each to do it in Saudi or $40m (£30m) in the UK?’

“It doesn’t work like that, have a brain. If it was the difference of $10m each, but it’s not – it’s double to go somewhere else.

“And it can’t be ignored. Especially a fight like that. It’s a one-off.”
