TYSON FURY’S dangerous plan to stand and trade with Deontay Wilder could backfire painfully on him, says former coach Ben Davison.
The 6ft 9in heavyweight danced and jabbed around the WBC champion for most of their 2018 draw.

But two late knockdowns robbed the Gypsy King of a Hollywood ending to his comeback story.
The former champ has since split with trainer Ben Davison and started working with Sugar Hill Steward, as he believes he must KO the American in Las Vegas on February 22.
Davison backs his man to get the win but the mastermind behind his comeback is worried about his new gameplan.
The respected young trainer said: “In the first fight Tyson boxed around Deontay Wilder but he did not go at him.
“But 99 per cent of the boxing world believes that he won that fight.
“So I understand, from Tyson’s point of view, why he thinks ‘I outboxed him last time but I did not get the decision so I have to try and take it out of the judges’ hands’.
“Tyson has been talking a lot about going for the knockout and people should definitely not right off the idea of him doing that.
“It’s not the exactly the approach I would plan on taking but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong.”
They are both two super-elite fighters but I just believe Tyson has that extra something special
Ben Davison
Davison was slaughtered by Fury’s influential father John after he need a unanimous decision to beat Otto Wallin in September.
Former fighter John said his son was far too light and needed to forget about having a six pack and focus on being a powerhouse.
And Davison reckons the undefeated giant will come in close to 19st after packing on more muscle.
He said: “I think Wilder will be a lot more patient in this fight, I think he will set things up a lot more than I the previous fight when I think he was a little over eager.
“I think Tyson will come in weighing around 18st 10lbs because I know he has been putting on some functioning muscle.
“They are both two super-elite fighters but I just believe Tyson has that extra something special.”
Fury’s close friend and super-middleweight WBO king Billy Joe Saunders does believe his promise to win by a second-round KO.
The silky southpaw reckons Fury will stick to his trademark trickery and outfox the Tuscaloosa man with another boxing clinic.
Saunders said: “I have not seen anything change in Wilder, since the last fight, that makes me think he can cause Tyson any problems.
“I am sure he will be going there with the same tactics and gameplan as the first fight because it was obviously very successful for him.”
