Tyson Fury trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder scheduled for December 19 this year

TYSON FURY’S trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder has been scheduled for December 19 this year.

The Bronze Bomber will get his crack at redemption by facing the Gypsy King for a third time with the pair contracted to another bout.

Wilder, 34, who was fortunate to walk away with a draw the first time he faced the Brit, 31, was twice floored on the way to his first loss in February.

But Fury will need to outbox the American for a third and final time before he can face his mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte or stage an undisputed title fight with Anthony Joshua.

Top Rank executive Brad Jacobs revealed that the third fight is being targeted for December with locations “all over the world.”

He told Sky Sports: “We are focusing on December 19 and are hoping that, by then, we are back to a nearly normal situation.

“That may be a 50 per cent capacity.

“We are looking all over the world, at this point, for the best location for this event. That will be narrowed down and we’ll see where it takes us.”

Heavyweight rivals Fury and Wilder were set to rematch in July, until the coronavirus pandemic KO’d the fight.

Instead they are preparing to complete their trilogy towards the end of the year and to salvage ticket sales the event could take place in China or the Middle East.

Australia have also proposed to hold the fight while America remains a likely location following the pair’s last bout earlier this year.

When asked if anywhere had been ruled out yet, Jacobs added: “Not at this point.

“There are many offers from all over the world. It will land where it lands, for whatever reason. At the moment there is no real progress for any specific location.”

A Fury win in the third fight would lead to a showdown with Joshua to unify the heavyweight division.

But a Wilder win, or if AJ falls to Kubrat Pulev, would KO hopes of the battle of Britain.

Yet Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren admitted he is confident of a repeat result when the Gypsy King shares a ring with the Bronze Bomber for a third time.

He told Sky Sports: “I think Tyson has got Deontay’s number. I thought he won the first fight. Second fight he won it emphatically.

“I don’t know what Deontay can bring that’s any different from the previous two fights.

“He feels that he can. I know speaking to Shelly Finkel his manager, he’s very, very confident. He believes he’s got the beating of Tyson. That remains to be seen.”
