TYSON FURY has had web mesh inserted into his horror gash above his eye that required 47 stitches.
The Gypsy King, 31, last year had two profile building fights in America before fighting Deontay Wilder, 34, for a second time, as the Brit beat Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin.

But Fury had to overcome a horrendous cut against Wallin caused by a slashing hook as the 6ft 9in switch-hitter grinded out a points win.
He has since hired famous cut man Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran, who told VegasInsider that web mesh material has been put in the gash to help the cut remain sealed.
He also insisted the heavyweight’s sparring was not affected by the shocking injury.
Duran said: “Tyson has had a mesh web inserted into his soft tissue where the cut is in order to strengthen it.
“Whenever you put a web on something it’s only going to give it that additional support. But when I first met with Tyson, we went over the cuts and I saw immediately that the surgeon that did the work did a tremendous job.
“Technology is reaching a point where it’s getting better and better.
“The advantages is you protect it while also having the natural healing. I would think that the tissue is going to grow into the webbing, so now you now have an extra layer which will all mesh into one.
“The cut hasn’t affected Tyson’s sparring at all. The first time I started to put Vaseline on him, he said nobody had put it on like that before as his brother used to do it – so that was an honour to me.
“But you want to protect all the area, not just the cut. You just want to protect his whole face at all times.”
Fury’s cut man in his last fight Jorge Capetillo was credited for saving his unbeaten record, but now facing KO king Wilder, the 31-year-old has chosen to use the experienced Duran for the Las Vegas rematch.
The Gypsy King has also hired a new trainer, Javan ‘SugarHill’ Steward, after splitting with close pal Ben Davison.
Sugarhill is the nephew of the late, great Emanuel Steward, the former trainer of Wladimir Klitschko and cut man Stitch worked with both the coach and heavyweight legend throughout their nine-year world title run.
And Duran can see similarities between SugarHill and his iconic uncle.
He said: “I’ve worked with SugarHill and his fighters many times over many years and we understand each other, that style which he brought in from Emmanuel Steward is a very effective system.
“I’m confident in SugarHill every time.
“Tyson will be aggressive at certain points. Everything is going to set up, it’s not going to be him balls to the wall, everything is going to be an educated move for him and I saw all that in the gym.”
