Tyson Fury confirms he wants Anthony Joshua fight next if Deontay Wilder rematch does not happen

TYSON FURY has confirmed he wants to fight Anthony Joshua next if the third part of his trilogy with Deontay Wilder does not happen.

The Gypsy King, 31, stopped the Bronze Bomber in the seventh round of their rematch in Los Angeles after they played out a controversial draw in 2018.

But should the next rematch not go ahead, Fury is adamant he wants the £100million “Fight of the Century” with fellow heavyweight champion AJ.

On a trip to the Los Angeles Raiders stadium, Fury told boxing reporter Michelle Joy Phelps: “If Deontay don’t want the rematch, let’s go AJ…”

After beating Wilder, Fury is now the holder of the WBC heavyweight belt, as well as the Ring Magazine belt.

Meanwhile, Joshua holds the other four – IBO, IBF, WBA and WBO – belts, as British reigns supreme across the heavyweight division.

And AJ’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, appears to be dead-set on sorting a fight with Fury, once the Watford star has battled past mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.

Hearn has told Fury’s promoter Frank Warren they would be “clowns” and “idiots” if they didn’t manage to set up the all-British fight.

NO CLOWNING AROUND

He revealed: “We’d be clowns, we’d be idiots if we didn’t make this fight happen because it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“We’ve got total domination of the heavyweight division in this country.

“All these Americans, they go, ‘You guys over the pond, what do you have?’

“We have the golden keys to the chalice. We are the kings of the world in boxing right now.

“Let’s not waste the chance to make history.”

Hearn continued: “We come into the office today with the entire heavyweight division on lockdown for Great Britain.

“What a time for the country, what a time for the sport.

“Whether you’re an AJ fan or a Fury fan or both, understand this: Right now the heavyweight division is owned by Great Britain.

“Tyson Fury has the WBC belt and the Ring Magazine Belt. Anthony Joshua has the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO belts.

“Two or three months ago the division was owned by the United States of America with Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz.

“So, this is great for the sport, a huge kick in the arm… now it’s time to find out who the real guv’nor is…”
