It leaves unified champion Joshua, 30, momentarily frozen out of the heavyweight picture with Fury and Wilder also signed for a trilogy bout after their second title fight.
But Fury’s team are adamant the time is now to agree a clash with WBA, IBF and WBO champion Joshua, which they hope will be an undisputed decider should Wilder be dethroned.
Top Rank president Todd DuBoefIn told Sky Sports: “There is nothing stopping it. In today’s world, we know that demand or massive interest is unparalleled.
“People want to see Joshua, but they want to see him in the ring with the best. Just like they want to see Fury and Wilder.
“While we have momentum now, I’d love to see the fight later this year. Strike while the iron is hot.
“Fury has a really tough match in Wilder but, I believe, this is when you make matches.
“[Joshua vs Fury] is massive across the board. We must listen to the fans, listen to the world, listen to the people supporting boxing by making these compelling matches as soon as possible.”
The loser of Saturday night’s heavyweight rerun has the option to activate a rematch clause and receive the lesser of a 60/40 split for a third bout.
But should the loser decide to walk away from the trilogy decider, it opens up the window to set up a showdown with Londoner AJ.
Joshua is expected to face IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev in his next fight, and has also been ordered by the WBO to face Oleksandr Usyk afterwards.
However, should a unification bout be agreed, the governing bodies could allow a the Brit to bypass the mandated defence.
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn has already told Wilder and Fury there is big money to be made in Saudi Arabia – the scene where Joshua avenged defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr – and will send the winner of the Vegas rematch an offer to face his heavyweight golden boy.
Hearn said: “Right now, the fight that Anthony Joshua wants is the winner of Wilder and Fury.
“We’ve been there before. Both guys have turned down 60-40 for that fight and now we have no other option, but to offer them 50-50, because the fight will never happen.
“We have a huge site offer in place for that fight to take place.”
