Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, 40, was found dead in a car at her home in California last month.

They have three children together.

Then just days later his uncle and former trainer Roger died at the age of just 58.

He is credited with helping make Floyd one of the greatest ever boxers, retiring undefeated and a five-weight world champ.

MAYWEATHER’S ANGUISH

Mayweather uploaded a clip to his social media accounts where he explained why he had not been as active recently.

He said: “What I want to talk about, I haven’t really had the chance to talk to the world, to talk to the people.

“I’ve been dealing with a lot. I’ve been dealing with the loss of the mother of my children, a significant other, a great woman and a great person.

“And dealing with a great trainer, an uncle, a great trainer, Roger Mayweather.

“So I’ve been dealing with a lot and I haven’t really had a chance to come out and speak, and talk to the world.”

JOINS FIGHT VS COVID-19

The 43-year-old then spoke about coronavirus, and that he is doing things “behind closed doors” to help out.

This is despite him appearing to ignore lockdown rules on a couple of occasions, in a gym and out with friends on a bike ride.

Mayweather added: “I am affected by this, it hurts, to see what the world is going through. I want us to stick together and keep believing.

“No-one is perfect, I strive to be a perfectionist every day, but no-one is perfect. I make mistakes all the time.

“The only thing I can do is become better. I want to help the world become a better place.

“With everything going on I am going to continue to do my part, I don’t have to show the world what I’m doing.

“I can do something behind closed doors, it’s not about the money.

“The money that I will be giving up will be to feed the people and help the people that don’t have a lot as of right now in this situation.

“I will continue to give back and I will never talk about it. As long as God knows I’m doing a good deed, that’s what is important to me.

“To everyone in the world from Floyd Mayweather and The Money Team, we love you all and we will always be there for this country as well as this world.”

TURNING TO TRAINING

Mayweather has been backed to become a hugely successful trainer by fellow boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Mayweather hung up his gloves an undefeated champion three years ago having won all 50 of his fights and has said he has been inspired by uncle Roger to become a cornerman.

Tyson told TMZ, he said: “Mostly, the guy that’s the great trainer is not the great fighter and that’s why he becomes the great trainer.

“I give Floyd a good chance because Floyd’s a gym rat, that’s all he does.

“You see him in the club for one week but he’s in the gym every day for 25 years.

“Even when he goes out and party, he’s back in the gym the next day. He does it in his sleep, this is what he does.”
