Manny Pacquiao still wants Floyd Mayweather rematch as he eyes two more fights before retiring to run for president

MANNY PACQUIAO still wants a rematch with Floyd Mayweather as he eyes retirement after just two more fights.

The Filipino great, 41, was beaten in the most-lucrative fight of all time in 2015, with Mayweather, 43, smartly boxing to a points win.

But Pacquiao has since insisted he fought with a torn right rotor cuff, and pleaded for one more crack at his unbeaten rival, this time injury-free.

With Mayweather appearing to consider another comeback, Pacman still dreams of a rematch against the American legend.

Trainer Freddie Roach told BoxingScene: “What he would like best is Mayweather one more time.

“He would like to get that one back one more time. He would. Watching the fight with no commentary it was a pretty close fight.

“He fought well but he can fight much better and with much more activity. I think the activity would be too much for Mayweather.

“Then again, Mayweather might not come back.”

Mayweather retired as a professional in 2017 after beating former UFC champion Conor McGregor – who has also called out Pacquiao.

But, last year, he announced plans to come out of retirement and work again with UFC boss Dana White.

White revealed Mayweather wants to fight in 2021 with the two actively working together now.

Pacquiao on the other hand won the WBA welterweight title last July against Keith Thurman and plans to make a ring return this year.

But Roach warns the eight-division champion has just two fights left in him before the Filipino senator runs for president and retires from boxing.

He said: “I’ve had discussions with Manny on having two more fights for his career and then maybe [stay] in politics.

“Manny would like to fight a couple of more times and then run for the presidency of his country.

“The first fighter to ever do that and it will be another part of his history and I think he will be really good at.”
