LUKE CAMPBELL has defended trainer Shane McGuigan over his ugly bust-up with Josh Taylor.

A lengthy and bitter legal case is going to follow as Taylor also quit the management and promotional company Shane’s legendary father Barry runs.
The 16-0 southpaw has complained about his treatment under the Cyclone banner, claiming he was snubbed for trips and even locked out of the gym for a spell.
But Campbell, who has followed McGuigan’s move down to Kent after they left their Wandsworth base, has backed his cornerman against the accusations.
The 2012 Olympic gold winner said: “I haven’t asked too many questions because it isn’t really my business, if they have personal issues.
‘NEVER SAW DIFFERENT TREATMENT’
“I have only really seen what has gone out on social media.
“From what I saw going on in the gym, I thought they were close, I didn’t see anyone getting separated or treated differently to anybody else.
“I thought we were all close but he has moved and the gym is still buzzing.I thought Shane would be more down about it but surprisingly he is in a great place.
“And when you look at Shane and the fighter’s he has worked with and some of their performances, his stock has never been higher.”

Taylor’s faultless career had been expertly guided by the father-son combination but he is now managed by rivals Top Rank and managed by MTK Global.
The 29-year-old is considering UK trainers Ben Davison and Adam Booth, as well as American mastermind Freddie Roach.
The ongoing dispute means Taylor is limited in what he can say about the break-up but he did reveal feeling ignored by his former team twice in 2019.
He said: “I just was not happy with a number of things behind the scenes and I was not happy for quite a long time.
“I was away from home probably 90 per cent of the year staying in c*** hotels and horrible rooms.
“All the team went to Miami on a trip before my fight with Ivan Baranchyk and they never asked me to go, they just went. I would have loved to have gone over there and trained.
“And when Luke Campbell had a fight in Philadelphia they never invited me to that either.
“They didn’t even have the decency to leave me a key to the gym, I had to go around London looking for somewhere else to train.”
