Josh Taylor trains with Tyson Fury’s former coach Ben Davison after split from Shane McGuigan

JOSH TAYLOR trained with Tyson Fury’s ex-trainer Ben Davison in Dubai after the Scot split with Shane McGuigan.

Scotland’s unified IBF and WBA super-lightweight king is in the middle of an ugly break-up with Cyclone Promotions, run by Irish boxing icon Barry McGuigan.

It meant the 29-year-old ended his relationship with respected trainer and Barry’s son Shane – with Taylor still searching for a new coach after signing with ESPN in the US.

He was captured training on the pads with Billy Joe Saunders trainer Davison in Dubai.

Davison himself has just split with unbeaten heavyweight Fury, who is now being coached by Javan ‘Sugarhill’ Steward, the nephew of the late great Emanuel Steward.

It is thought the pair parted ways as Fury wanted to bring in Hill to work on his power, and Davison decided not to share corner responsibilities and left the Gyspy King’s camp on good terms.

The trainer is back working again with Saunders, who is looking to secure a fight with Mexican superstar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Despite the link up in Dubai, SunSport revealed Taylor is considering a Stateside switch to link up with legendary trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach trained Amir Khan and currently works with Englishman Scott Quigg as well as Filipino great Manny Pacquiao.

Taylor could secure himself a fresh start in California after a December court case for an altercation with an Edinburgh bouncer threatened to spoil his breakout year.

In May, the Prestonpans hero landed the IBF 10st title by dominating the feared Ivan Baranchyk and five months later he dethroned Prograis at a packed O2 to win the final of the coveted World Boxing Super Series.

Jose Ramirez holds the WBC and WBO crowns that Taylor would need to become the celebrated undisputed ruler of the division and he has been with Top Rank since he turned pro after the 2012 Olympics.

Bob Arum, the veteran fight maker and Top Rank kingpin, is already planning to put his two stars together after Taylor makes his bow under his new banner.
