TYSON FURY is most likely to fight Deontay Wilder next and complete their trilogy of bouts, according to the bookies.
The Gypsy King floored Wilder twice before securing a seventh-round stoppage on a scintillating night in Las Vegas at the weekend.
Fury and Wilder’s contract for their second fight – their first in 2018 ended in a draw – included scope for a third bout.
Wilder has 30 days to make the decision, but it is believed the team will push for an immediate rematch.
That would come as a disappointment to many boxing fans, who would rather Fury take on Anthony Joshua in a mouthwatering undisputed clash.
After beating Wilder, Fury is now the holder of the WBC heavyweight belt, as well as the Ring Magazine belt.
Meanwhile, Joshua holds the other four – IBO, IBF, WBA and WBO – belts, as Britain reigns supreme across the heavyweight division.
According to Betfair, Fury is almost certain to be going at it for a third time against Wilder next, with odds of 11/10.
An all-British scrap for all the belts against Joshua is a 4/1 shot.
Dillian Whyte is back as the WBC’s mandatory challenger, and you can get 13/2 that the Bodysnatcher gets his shot at the Gypsy King.
Former WBO cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk is at 8/1, the same odds as little-known American Adam Kownacki.
Other interesting selections are the highly-touted Daniel Dubois at 16/1, the man he faces in April Joe Joyce at 50/1 and UFC legend Stipe Miocic a big outsider at 100/1.
TEAM WILDER READY FOR TRILOGY
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “After an unbelievable boxing performance in the early hours of Sunday morning, the whole country are eagerly anticipating who Fury will take on in the ring next.
“While everyone would no doubt love to see an undisputed battle of Britain world title fight with Joshua, the current WBA ‘super’, IBF and WBO champion is an outsider at 4/1 to be Fury’s next opponent.
“There has been a lot of talk around a clause in Sunday’s fight contract that could see Wilder take on Fury for a third time, and according to the betting, this is the most likely option with the Bronze Bomber 11/10 to step into the ring once more with Fury.”
SunSport has previously listed five potential opponents for Fury next, with the obvious choice, Wilder, a selection alongside Joshua, Whyte, Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarrell Miller.
Should the Wilder rematch not go ahead, Fury is adamant he wants the £100million “Fight of the Century” with fellow heavyweight champion AJ.
On a trip to the Los Angeles Raiders stadium, Fury told boxing reporter Michelle Joy Phelps: “If Deontay don’t want the rematch, let’s go AJ.”
Joshua’s promoter Hearn has told Fury’s promoter Frank Warren they would be “clowns” and “idiots” if they didn’t manage to set up the all-British fight.
