Anthony Joshua shows off amazing speed and power as he practises body shots in training with Pulev fight on horizon

ANTHONY JOSHUA proved he’s not willing to rest until he’s the undisputed champ after showing off his incredible heavyweight power.

The Brit is back on track for Deontay Wilder’s WBC belt after beating Andy Ruiz Jr at the second time of asking last month.

Joshua posted footage on his Instagram of throwing punches at trainer Angel Fernandez, who is wearing a body protector, at Finchley Boxing Club in North London.

The 30-year-old heavyweight is likely to take on Bulgarian brute Kubrat Pulev with terms needed to be agreed before January 31.

Should a deal not be reached, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist could be stripped of his IBF belt.

AJ has been handed a heavyweight headache as the WBO also announced the unified champion must defend his belt in a mandatory defence against Oleksandr Usyk.

The pair have been ordered to fight before June 4, but promoter Eddie Hearn is looking to thrash out a deal with the governing body that will see Usyk face Derek Chisora first.

Despite the uncertainty, Joshua is obviously maintaining his terrific shape by uploading a video of himself in the gym throwing explosive body shots are one of his coaches.

In another video he reveals his incredible hand speed that is sure to send shivers down Pulev’s spine.

Although Joshua was convincing in his win over the Destroyer, former foe Dillian Whyte is less than convinced that the fellow Brit can beat his rivals.

He told Sky Sports: “We’ve seen this before – Lennox Lewis was an aggressive fighter on the front foot but got knocked out by Hasim Rahman, then changed his style.

“People forget Wladimir Klitschko was one of the most aggressive heavyweights for a long time, but he got done by Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster then changed his style.

“Joshua will be the same.Tall heavyweights start their careers very aggressively, but then?

“Even Deontay Wilder, when he was clocked a couple of times by Luis Ortiz, thought ‘I’m just going to wait’.We have seen this time and time again in history, and it’s always the same.”
