Mikasa President joins FIVB Executive Committee


Olympic House, Lausanne, Switzerland, December 4, 2019 – Mikasa President, Mr. Yuji Saeki, has been appointed as a Co-Opted Member of the FIVB Executive Committee after accepting the position offered by FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F°.

The FIVB has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Mikasa for more than 50 years, with the sporting goods manufacturer having supplied the FIVB with equipment since volleyball was first included on the Olympic Programme at Tokyo 1964.

Following the announcement, President Ary Graça said:

“Mikasa has been one of the FIVB’s longest partners and, over many years, we have established an incredibly strong relationship. When people think of Mikasa, they think of volleyball. This is testament to the work we have done together.

“Mr. Saeki is a very experienced businessman and leader, and I have no doubt that his expertise will prove to be incredibly valuable for the FIVB.”

Commenting on the news, Mr. Saeki said:

“This is a great honour for me and I am deeply grateful to President Ary Graça for this invitation. I have huge respect for the work that the FIVB President and the entire Executive Committee are doing to grow the sport of volleyball worldwide, and I hope to contribute to that for many years to come.”

The FIVB Executive Committee holds its meeting on December 4 at the Olympic House and December 5 at the FIVB headquarters.
