Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘walks away’ from AC Milan transfer as he wants double their £1.7m offer

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has rebuffed AC Milan after demanding they double their offer of £1.7million over 18 months, Italian reports say.

Speculation is also growing that the the former Manchester United striker, 38, is in “advanced negotiations” with an English club after leaving LA Galaxy – days after Everton were said to be keen.

Free agent Ibrahimovic insists he is still good enough for one of Europe’s top clubs, with Napoli amongst his other admirers.

The Sweden legend’s agent, Mino Raiola, is also the representative of Italy striker Moise Kean, 19, who left Juventus for Everton over the summer.

And any interest from the Toffees is likely to soar if axed Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti takes over at Goodison Park.

TuttoSport say Ibra and Milan have both held firm on their position over wages – so a deal seems dead.

Old Trafford chiefs also appear to have distanced themselves from resigning the ex-Barcelona and PSG hero.

UNLIKELY TO RETIRE

Despite his experience and pedigree, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might feel such a move would send wrong signals to his emerging generation of academy products, notably 18-year-old frontman Mason Greenwood.

Ibrahimovic himself told GQ Italia last week he is expecting a return to Serie A.

He said: “I will go to a club that has to win again, that has to renew its history, which is looking for a challenge against everyone. See you soon in Italy.”

But last week Raiola pointed out: “It’s not been said that he will necessarily return to Italy.

“Which of the three interested clubs will he choose? Who knows. We’re all free men.

“Could he retire? I’m not going to exclude anything but it is very unlikely. Ibra is still very well.”
