Zlatan Ibrahimovic and agent Raiola hold talks with AC Milan over free transfer after leaving LA Galaxy

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has reportedly held talks with AC Milan over a return to the San Siro.

Corriere dello Sport claims the 38-year-old striker is set for a second spell with the Rossoneri after entering negotiations alongside his agent Mino Raiola.

Ibrahimovic spent two seasons at Milan between 2010 and 2012, scoring 56 goals in 85 appearances and winning the 2011 Serie A title.

He is now a free agent after scoring 53 times in just 18 months for MLS outfit LA Galaxy.

And Milan apparently lead the race for Ibra’s coveted signature despite interest from elsewhere.

Manchester United, where the Swede won the Europa League in 2017, have been linked.

While reports claim Serie A rivals Napoli and Bologna have also made offers.

But it looks like Ibra will instead return to familiar territory as Milan look to bounce back from a terrible start to the season.

They are already on their second manager of the term, with Marco Giampaolo sacked after just seven games.

However, new boss Stefano Pioli has only managed one win in five matches.

And Milan feel Ibra can inspire those around him to turn their fortunes around.

Ibra isn’t the only ace Milan want, as SunSport understands they are also keen on signing Arsenal misfit Lucas Torreira.

The Italians lie 14th in the Serie A table with just 13 points from 12 games.

And 11 points separate them from a coveted Champions League spot.

It’s hoped Ibra will form a deadly partnership with Krzysztof Piatek, who has only scored three times this season.

And it will mark yet another milestone in the veteran’s incredible playing career.

Ibrahimovic started off at Malmo in 1999 before securing a move to Ajax in 2001 where he lifted two Dutch league titles..

Juventus pounced for him in 2004, but Ibra was sold to rivals Inter Milan in 2006 when the Bianconeri were relegated to Serie B for match fixing.

Juve were stripped of their two league titles in the process, but Ibra made up for the pain by winning it three consecutive times at Inter.

The ace was then snapped up by Barcelona in an incredible deal involving Samuel Eto’o going the other way.

However, Ibra’s time in Spain was marred by clashes with boss Pep Guardiola.

And despite winning La Liga in 2010, he was shipped off on loan to AC Milan in 2010.

They signed him permanently a year later after a thrilling Serie A title win.

But his time there ended quickly when Paris Saint-Germain moved for him in 2012.

He scored an outrageous 156 times in 180 matches, winning four Ligue 1 titles in the process.

But Ibrahimovic’s time at the top was far from over, and new Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho pounced for him on a free transfer in 2016.

Ibra played a starring role in their 2017 Europa League win, but injury saw him make just five appearances in his second season at Old Trafford before he opted to join LA Galaxy in January 2018.
