Having seen his hero hurt by the shameful incident, 11-year-old Herman from Sweden decided to send his best wishes.

An impeccably crafted, handwritten letter was penned by the lad and posted online over the weekend.

It read: “Hello! My name is Herman. I live in Bohuslan in Sweden. I’m a big Man United fan!

“Racism have not a place in football!! [sic].

“I’m very proud how you tackled the racism in the City match. You have played very well in the games.

“Racists are only jealous and cowardly.

“Good luck in the future. Love from Herman, 11 years old. #AllRedAllEqual.”

United forward Marcus Rashford tweeted his delight at the letter and sent it on to teammate Fred.

The England ace responded: “Love this from you mate.”

A man, 41, arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order was released on bail at the start of the week.

Fred headed over to take a corner at Etihad Stadium when he appeared to be abused and hit by an object thrown from the crowd.

City have joined the voices strongly condemning the alleged racial abuse following the 2-1 United win.

Speaking after the game, Fred stated: “Unfortunately, we are still in a backward society. [It is a shame] we still have to live with that in 2019.

“We are all the same regardless of skin colour, hair and gender. We came from the same place and we all go to the same place when it’s all said and done.”
