Who is Lee Grant, when did he join Man Utd and how many games has he played for Red Devils?

MANCHESTER UNITED face Astana in the Europa League, knowing qualification is already secured.

This has allowed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a host of changes and give minutes to some youth and fringe players.

Among them is third-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant, who has previously played for the likes of Burnley, Stoke City and Derby County.

Who is Lee Grant?

Lee Grant was born in 1983 in Hemel Hempstead.

He came through the Derby academy, making his debut in the year 2000.

At the age of 35, he earned a move to Old Trafford, becoming the third goalie.

The move was believed to be for £1.5m, being brought in to provide experience and a safe pair of hands should he ever need to be called upon.

How many games has Grant played for Man Utd?

With David de Gea and Sergio Romero ahead of him in the pecking order, matches for Grant have been few and far between.

In fact, the ex-England youth international has only made one appearance for the Red Devils since joining in July 2018 – and that came in the Carabao Cup against his former side Derby County.

Should he start as expected against Astana, it would be just his second game for United and first ever in a European competition.
