Spurs are also winless since September having been frustrated in the last few weeks in draws against Everton and Sheffield United.

But with Mourinho now in the dug-out, fans will be hoping he can turn their fortunes around after a dismal campaign.

Michail Antonio could return to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad for the first time since the end of August at the weekend.

The West Ham boss said the English winger ‘could well be fit’ after the international break as he finishes off rehabilitation on a thigh injury.

Manuel Lanzini remains on the sidelines due to a fractured collarbone he picked up in his side’s 3-0 defeat to Burnley last time out.

Mark Noble is also a doubt due to an ankle sprain, while perennial sideline-sitter Jack Wilshere could also miss out with a groin problem.

Spurs will have to wait to hear on Tanguy Ndombele’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s London derby.

The French midfielder could come into the side to replace Harry Winks, who played the full 90 minutes in both of England’s Euro 2020 qualifiers last week.

Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela will face last minute fitness tests after they both picked up thigh injury’s which could keep them out of the trip to the London Stadium.

Mourinho could also choose to start Ryan Sessegnon after the teenager came on for the final stages of their 1-1 draw with Everton at the start of November.
