WATFORD are on the brink of firing Quique Sanchez Flores, with SunSport understanding Chris Hughton is poised to take over.
Flores, who only took the job three months ago, is set to be dismissed but the Hornets will not confirm any changes until his successor is fully secured.

The club are set to hold a meeting later today at which the change of manager will be discussed.
Hughton is ready to take on the role having held talks with the club and the coach is highly regarded by the decision makers at Vicarage Road.
It marks the end of the road for Flores who replaced Javi Garcia just four games into the season.
In what was his second stint at the club, the Spaniard failed to turn results around, winning just one game.
The latest setback was a 2-1 defeat to fellow relegation candidates Southampton that left the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
THIRD TIME LUCKY?
A change of manager means Watford will be onto their third of the season.
Former Newcastle boss Hughton will have a major task to save Watford from the drop with the club currently six points from safety.
Hughton, 60, has been out of work since he was dismissed by Brighton towards the end of last season with the club struggling to retain their Premier League status.
His first full-time job was with the Magpies, who he led to promotion to the Premier League before he was fired the following season with the club in 12th.
He managed Birmingham for the 2011/12 season, leading them to fourth in the Championship.
After that he was in charge of Norwich before leading Brighton to promotion from the Championship.
Other managers to have been mentioned as potential replacements have been ex-West Ham chief David Moyes, former Southampton manager Mark Hughes and Paul Clement.
Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew were also reportedly considered.
