Presenter Gary Lineker grinned as he joked 6ft 7in Crouch would have to lie down on a king-size mattress.
He said: “No more Crouch on the couch, he’s no slouch, he’s just got a sore throat and no voice. Ouch.
“We’ve sent him to his rather extra-long bed.”
Lineker even covered his mouth as Crouch strode towards the exit in Stratford, East London.
Crouch tweeted: “I thought I got away with the no voice thing.”
Glenn Hoddle and Rio Ferdinand were then left the only two analysts in the studio.
They had plenty to talk about after Spurs trailed 2-0 to the Greek side after 19 minutes.
But Dele Alli got one back just before half-time, ghosting into the six-yard box as Olympiakos’ defenders swiped at thin air while trying to clear the ball.
Then Harry Kane settled Tottenham nerves five minutes after half time with an equaliser.
Eventually Serge Aurier and Kane settled the Tottenham stadium nerves with two more.
