He faces a crunch derby clash at West Ham on Saturday but Redknapp — who managed both clubs — has warned Tottenham not to boot him out.

Harry, 72, said: “He’s a fantastic manager. You are only as good as your players and they need to pick up their form.

“It would not even come into the equation for me to get rid of him.”

Spurs are without a Premier League win since September and defeat at the Hammers will ramp up the pressure on Poch, just 5½ months after he led the club to the Champions League final.

And SunSport revealed Jose Mourinho is keeping a close eye on the Spurs situation — despite believing the Real Madrid job will be his if he wants it.

Mourinho has been linked with a Bernabeu return for several months because of Zinedine Zidane’s struggles in his own second spell at the club.

The former Chelsea boss, 56, told friends he is confident of being offered the post if and when Zidane goes.

But the TV pundit also confided he would not necessarily accept, partly because of the possibility of taking over at Spurs.

If Pochettino, 47, were to resign or be sacked following the team’s poor start to the season, Tottenham’s options for an immediate replacement would be limited.

Pochettino himself is a long-term target of Real president Florentino Perez.

And it could be a neat solution for all concerned if he went back to Spain to take charge at the Bernabeu, with Mourinho replacing him at Spurs.
