PSG keeper Keylor Navas hit in the head by a WATER BOTTLE as French champs beat Montpellier

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN goalkeeper Keylor Navas was disgracefully struck by a water bottle from the stands as his side beat Montpellier 3-1.

The French giants had turned around a 1-0 deficit by scoring three times in eight blistering second half minutes.

But the afternoon was soured by an idiotic fan striking the Costa Rican stopper with their water bottle.

Montpellier had been leading PSG at half time after Leandro Paredes’ 41st minute own goal at the Stade de la Mosson.

But goals from superstar the trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi putting the game out of sight.

It was then in the 86th minute that play had to be delayed for Navas to receive treatment, having been struck on the side of the head.

Thankfully, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper was able to continue.

And Thomas Tuchel’s side saw out their 3-1 victory.

It’s not the first Montpellier match to be marred by crowd trouble.

In September last season, their derby match with Nimes was delayed by more than 30 minutes as police attempted to control a situation that saw fans trying to storm the pitch.

The champions are currently eight points clear at the top of Ligue 1.

Montpellier, meanwhile are seventh.

And if they’d held out for the win today, they could have climbed up to fourth.
