Carlo Ancelotti, Mauricio Pochettino and Mikel Arteta are also said to be in the running for the role that the Frenchman would consider.
Vieira told Canal Plus: “You can never ignore a club where you’ve spent nine years.”
However the ex-midfielder is content with life on the French Riviera and indicated that he wouldn’t request to leave easily.
He added: “Honestly, I’m focused on this project at Nice, I feel very good here.
“It’s a very exciting project. I’ve always said that I’m very happy in Nice.
“We’re all working to move the club forward and there is potential.”
