MANCHESTER UNITED fans have asked Oli McBurnie if he “still wants VAR scrapped” after the Sheffield United star scored controversial late equaliser at Bramall Lane.
On Saturday night, the Scottish striker, 23, demanded video reviews be banned after Raheem Sterling’s goal was chalked off by a kitten’s whisker.

The Manchester City star appeared to have finally killed off Chelsea to score his side’s third, only for officials to rule it out by the finest of margins.
Pep Guardiola’s side eventually clung on to win 2-1 against a tricky Blues side – who had earlier stolen a 1-0 lead at the Etihad.
McBurnie was one of thousands of fans to criticise the technology on social media, with the Blades ace taking to Twitter to have a rant.
The Sheffield United star wrote, “Na VAR is miles off it scrap the whole thing”, accompanied by a series of laughing emojis.
He also retweeted a post from Gary Lineker which read: “Cannot stand what VAR is doing to the game…
“Particularly with these nonsensically tight offside calls that they can’t possibly be sure of one way or the other. [Bin emoji] it.”

It was a tough call for Scott to make in a high pressure moment of the game.But it was pleasing to see the VAR official got it absolutely spot on.
From all the angles that were afforded to Scott, it did not appear the ball hit Oli McBurnie’s hand at all.
I felt the ball hit the front of McBurnie’s shoulder as he was trying to take his arm away.
It was a fair decision to award the goal and I’m glad they came to the right outcome.
But McBurnie was the beneficiary of VAR after he scored a last-gasp equaliser against Man Utd with the ball seeming to strike his arm.
As the ball was played to the former Swansea star, he appeared to control the ball on his shoulder – before quickly moving his arm behind his body.
Traditionally the top of the arm is not considered to be handball, but under new VAR rules, “any use of the hand or arm” are prohibited.
Despite his goal being checked, officials allowed the goal to stand as Sheff Utd pinched a well-deserved point in a 3-3 thriller.
McBurnie’s tweet on Saturday evening was liked nearly 7,000 times, at the time of writing, and had hundreds of comments.
Of course, football fans never forget a tweet… and they replied in hoards to poke fun of McBurnie after VAR saved Sheffield United’s skin.
One wrote: “What you saying about this now?”
Another joked: “You still want VAR scrapped mate ahahah?”
A third added: “Bet you ain’t saying that now.”
