And striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says the only thing the Arsenal legend has done is lift the gloom from the Unai Emery regime.
In a message to the Gunners fans in the matchday programme, the striker said: “He’s been very clear on what he wants us to change and improve.
“His message is clear – a happy player is a player who has fun on the pitch. He wants us to enjoy our football again.
“He wants us to play great football, to enjoy ourselves so you can enjoy yourselves watching us and supporting us.
“He has a lot of energy and we can feel it. Even if he has not been the manager for long, we have a lot of respect for him.”
Ljungberg stepped in to take temporary charge following Emery’s sacking last Friday.
