MANCHESTER UNITED fans think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should give up his Jadon Sancho pursuit – because Dan James is better.
The England flier, 19, has thrived since swapping Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in pursuit of first-team football in 2017.
And amid reports that £100million-rated Sancho wants to leave the Bundesliga, United have emerged as one of the leading contenders for his signature.
Solskjaer is desperate for options up front after using the summer to strengthen his back four with the additions of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
But whizkid Mason Greenwood is starting to impress alongside Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Wales ace James – leading some supporters to question if Sancho is needed.
One fan tweeted: “Sancho isn’t better than Electric James”.
There were plenty of tweets questioning if the money could not be spent better elsewhere.
A James fan added: “I don’t want sancho, am OK with James…. Nothing is so special. About sancho… Pls let’s use the money to sign Maddison or Kai havertz”.
While another explained: “Sancho is overrated now. Get Jovic He can play as a second striker and creative midfield.
“A more reliable option in the 4-4-2 shape. Remaining money get a top Left back. and Halaand.”
James and Sancho have both scored three league goals this season, although the Dortmund ace has played three fewer games.
And ex-City ace Sancho also leads the way in assists and chances created as Dortmund get him plenty of the ball.
Sancho did not get on the scoresheet as England helped themselves to seven goals last night, while James will hope to add to his two international goals when Wales take on Azerbaijan tomorrow.
