MANCHESTER UNITED have been watching Richarlison as they make signing a new striker their main target for January.
The genuine lack of options in attack has been one of the glaring weaknesses highlighted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the opening few months of the season.

United currently have only Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial as recognised forwards in the squad, with Mason Greenwood an inexperienced back-up aged just 18.
And the Standard say Everton star Richarlison is one of the players being closely monitored as United prepare to spend money when the transfer window on strengthening their firepower.
It is claimed the Brazilian and Norwegian prodigy Erling Haaland are two players who are being tracked by the United scouts.
The potential targets are being regularly discussed by Solskjaer and his United board, with that pair talked about in depth.
Others under consideration according to the report are Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and German hotshot Timo Werner.
It appears Solskjaer has convinced his bosses that they will need to invest heavily in January rather than wait until the end of the season to sign a forward.
There is a belief that unless they do, they will find it hard to bridge the gap back up to the top four and the Champions League places, which currently stands at nine points.
The decision to let Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave without replacing them came back to haunt United within weeks of the season started.
That was when Martial suffered an injury which that kept him out for six weeks, leaving Rashford exposed as the only other forward available.
The news that Richarlison is one of the options will be concerning for Everton, given the clubs own struggles for goalscoring options.
The Toffees splashed out £40million to sign him from Watford last year and he has quickly become the main attacking threat in Marco Silva’s side.
So they will not want the Brazil international to have his head turned by the potential of a lucrative move to Old Trafford, especially in a season which has been more of a struggle than hoped for at Goodison Park.
