Bild claim Haaland – who has bagged 27 goals in 20 games – has a release clause that will allow him to leave on the cheap in January.
Haaland is the son of former Leeds star Alf Inge and was born in the Yorkshire city.
He is keen to follow in his dad’s footsteps but Bild’s report adds that the striker wants to join a “stepping-stone club” before moving to the Premier League.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Valencia and Sevilla have all been linked with the ex-Molde star.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope that his personal connection to the Norwegian, having worked with him in his homeland, could seal a deal.
The Old Trafford boss secured a massive victory over Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham last night.
And he will hope to use the result to kick-start his ailing troops for the second half of the season.
United have looked short of a cutting edge up front and Haaland would be a huge signing if he can be tempted to ignore offers from Germany, Spain and Italy.
