RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK at last appeared to be making progress on a nagging Achilles injury with images of a training workout posted online.
Out of action since May, the midfielder was the unfortunate victim of a late-season trip to the United States before the Europa League final.

Loftus-Cheek has suffered a number of setbacks while on the comeback trail and could still be some way off a return.
On Tuesday, the England international posted a clip of him undergoing a series of ball playing and running drills to indicate his improved condition.
Speaking earlier in the month, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admitted the player had no injury timescale planned.
The coach said: “He has had a few setbacks over the last two months. He hasn’t had a new one.
“It is not flying along as we would want. It’s not for the want of trying for everybody.
“For Ruben there is nothing worse, of course, being injured. At the moment we are no closer to him being fit.”
His absence has prevented Loftus-Cheek, 23, from being part of the youth revolution Lampard has formulated this season at Stamford Bridge.
The likes of Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have all excelled under the former midfielder in his first few months in the dugout.
However three league defeats in four matches leaves Chelsea on the brink of dropping out the top-four before Sunday’s trip to Tottenham.
