BRENDAN RODGERS has joined the race for Germany centre-back Robin Koch.
The SC Freiburg defender is on Leicester’s radar for a January move and has also attracted interest from Wolves, Norwich and Bundesliga clubs.
Leicester are hoping to sign Germany defender Robin Koch
Foxes scouts tracked Koch, 23, during the international break when he played in his country’s win over Belarus but was an unused sub against Northern Ireland.
Rodgers is looking at long-term options following Harry Maguire’s departure for £85million in the summer.
Caglar Soyuncu has stepped in for Maguire but Rodgers is still looking for competition at the heart of his defence.
Wolves are looking to cover for the loss of Willy Boly to a long-term ankle injury, while Norwich have conceded 28 goals in 12 games this season and are looking to add a centre-back.
Koch has impressed during his high-flying team’s run to fourth in the table.
Frieburg have got results against Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig during the current campaign and are only four points off top spot.
Koch has been a regular this season and was rewarded with his first Germany cap last month against Argentina before playing during the current international break.
Frieburg will weigh up whether to allow him to leave for the Premier League should £15m bids come in.
