L’Equipe state that Draxler would cost upwards of £25million, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal previously linked.

However the league-leading Reds have already brought in a player to cover the attacking positions – Takumi Minamino.

Winger Draxler joined PSG in 2017 but has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot.

Ambitions to play for Germany at Euro 2020 are reportedly driving his ambition to seek minutes next month with Hertha Berlin and Sevilla named as potential destinations.

After a significant investment from German businessman Lars Windhorst, mid-table Bundesliga side Hertha are preparing a number of major signings with Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka amongst them.

Reports in Spain, via GFFN, name Sevilla as having already enquired about a deal.

One stumbling block could be Draxler’s considerable £6m-a-year wage packet.

That may best suit an initial loan deal, which Sevilla are preparing alongside an option to make the deal permanent.

Whereas Hertha are reportedly only putting a £3.8m offer on the table.
