Alli silenced his critics as he produced the “pass of the season” during the 3-2 win over the Hammers.

The midfielder ended up on his backside after a sloppy pass from Eric Dier landed behind him.

Instead of letting the ball go out of play, the 23-year-old managed to flick the ball through to Son Heung-min with his trailing foot.

The South Korea international raced up the pitch before he delivered the ball into the box to create Lucas Moura’s goal.

Mourinho appeared to impressed by Alli’s moment of magic on the touchline – and he was not the only one.

One Twitter user said: “Dele Alli has just played the pass of the season whilst laying on his back. Fair play, lad. Fair play.”

Another added: “Oh my god, that is the pass of the season from Dele Alli. Incredible.”

And one supporter posted: “Dele Alli’s flick in the build up to Moura’s goal was borderline disrespectful. I loved it.”

As well as creating the second goal, Alli slipped the ball through to Son for Tottenham’s opener in the 36th minute.
