JOSE MOURINHO was branded a “budget Tim Sherwood” after he rocked up to his first Spurs press conference in a gilet.
The Portuguese manager, 56, revealed he has been “smiling for two days” after taking over from Mauricio Pochettino.

But The Special One was trolled by fans online after he opted to pair his purple Tottenham tracksuit with a navy blue gilet.
Supporters likened him to former Spurs boss Sherwood – who is renowned for wearing the sleeveless jacket in the Tottenham dugout.
Writing on Twitter, one fan said:”Mourinho is sat in front of the media wearing a fetching gilet in honour of Tottenham’s greatest ever manager, Tim Sherwood.”
Another added: “Mourinho in a gilet. Heroic Sherwood nonsense. This is why the Barclays needs him.”
Alongside the infamous clip of Sherwood throwing his gilet in anger on the side of the pitch, one fan wrote: “Sherwood is furious Mourinho has stolen his look.”
But some argued Mourinho started the trend after he wore a gilet during his spell with Inter Milan from 2008 until 2010.
And the 56-year-old wore them during his time with Chelsea and Manchester United.
During the press conference, Mourinho admitted he will “make new mistakes” as he attempts to turn Spurs into a winning club.
Asked if he was an improved boss after being axed by Manchester United, Mourinho said: “I think so. These last 11 months have been used to think and to prepare.
“You never lose your DNA. You are what you are – for the good things and the bad things. I know in my career that I’ve made mistakes.
“I’m not going to make the same mistakes. I’m going to make new mistakes. I’m going to be stronger. Happiness-wise I am convinced my choice was a great one. Ten out of ten.”
