And the Foxes forward looked to be closing in on his own record as he headed in an equaliser against Norwich at the King Power Stadium.

But the strike deflected off the palms of keeper Krul, meaning the Dutchman took the goal off Vardy’s hands.

It cancelled out the visitor’s shock opener as Teemu Pukki slotted past Kasper Schmeichel on the 26th minute mark.

The Finland forward takes his scoring tally to eight this season.

Drama had unfolded just before Leicester’s equaliser as Norwich played the ball out after an injury – only for Kelechi Iheanacho to receive the ball from the throw in and drive at goal.

The striker was stopped in his tracks and a mass melee broke out as the Foxes won a free-kick.

A furious Todd Cantwell confronted and grabbed Iheanacho before receiving a booking.

The scuffle was reviewed by VAR after suspensions Cantwell had by Leicester man by the neck.

However, after a review the a yellow was deemed the sufficient punishment.
