Gareth Bale not happy at Real Madrid and could leave if ‘right opportunity’ comes along, confirms agent

GARETH BALE’S agent has confirmed that the Welshman is “not ecstatic” at Real Madrid and could leave in January.

Los Blancos fans have been booing the superstar since he returned from Wales duty, where he was snapped with a fan’s cheeky flag that poked fun at the club.

And his representative Jonathan Barnett has addressed ongoing claims that Bale’s days at the Bernabeu could be numbered.

He told the BBC: “Bale is not ecstatic. He has never asked to leave.

“He has a contract with Real Madrid and, as long as they want him, there’s not much anyone can do about it.

“He wants to win the [league] championship and the European Championship and everything else. It will not affect his performance.”

Wales fans have turned a jibe aimed at Bale, 30, into a rallying cry with chants of ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid’ and flags in reference to claims he prioritises his country over Real.

But Barnett is adamant that the flier, who is set to miss two games with a hamstring injury, is fully committed.

He added: “The facts and figures prove if he is on the field for Real Madrid, they have a better chance of winning.

“No one has ever accused him of not giving 100 percent, and a 100 percent Gareth Bale is one of the best players in the world.

“The coach [Zinedine Zidane] should be happy and honoured that he is on the pitch for him. There’s no guarantee he is leaving.

“If the right opportunity came along for him and it’s something he wants to do, we have to have a chat with the president of Real Madrid [Florentino Perez] and see where we are.”
